8-Week Grief/Loss Journaling Support Group
This group is open to anyone who is interested in either addressing his/her own grief and loss or helping a loved one who is going through grief and loss.
We experience grief and loss in many ways, including but not limited to the death of a loved one, divorce, major health decline and financial setbacks. In a supportive and safe environment, we will learn about the various facets of grief and loss, as well as practice effective ways of coping with this difficult part of human experience.
The group also includes a journaling component, where participants write about grief and loss and if they wish, share what they have written. A growing body of research has shown that writing about your traumatic experiences have beneficial effects on mental and physical health. I personally have found journaing to be a powerful method in bringing clarity to confusing situations.
“I was deep in my personal pit of grief—and though I know there will always be pain associated with the loss of my loved one, I know there is a future to “live in” as well. I’m progressing.”
“I like the openness that we have all achieved. It helps so much to see that others not only have their own pain—but are willing to share yours. It's the support of the leader, the individual members, and the corporate-ness of the group that have meant the most to me.”
“I feel I have learned a lot about myself and that you never walk alone as many people feel they do when grieving.”
